Our November meeting minutes are now available, view a copy of the minutes here.

At the meeting we discussed

  • The Police Report – watch out for online selling scams and fraudsters who call you up.
  • Christmas Lights – Emma updated us on the progress with sponsos and planning a switch on ceremony.  Many thanks to all the people who came out on the 3rd , there was a great buzz about the village.  We now feel well prepared to start planning earlier for something bigger for 2023.
  • Post Office Closure –  The post office branch would be closing since Morrisons which tool over McColls was closing the store.  We directed people to Alyn Smith’s user survey (https://alynsmith.scot/2023/01/17/stirling-mp-slams-bridge-of-allan-post-office-closure/.)  Since then the Community Council, the local MP, the local MSP, our local elected members of Stirling Council and the landlord of the post office building have been directly in touch with Post Office Limited to underline the severe impact the closure would have on the town, to reinforce the concerns of the community and to insist that immediate consideration be given to reversing the decision.
  • Community Action Plan  – Heather outlined plans to review the CAP themes and progress made since it was drawn up.  Report back to the community on the progress we have made and then make plans for the future.  We also talked about what Local Place Plans are and how and when one might be drawn up for BofA
  • Common Good Fund – Discover Bridge of Allan talked through their recent work and focus as a development trust.  Their application is to develop a community plan.  We discussed and sought clarity on the different types of plans and stakeholder roles.
