Bridge of Allan Community Council invites residents to a public meeting
Wednesday 24th June at 7.30pm in the Allan Centre (GP room)
This is to discuss the community council response to the latest Local Development Plan Consultation.
You are welcome to submit your own personal comments as well.
Prior to this there will be a Drop in public consultation on Wednesday 3rd June 13:00 til 18:00 in the Allan Centre, hosted by Stirling Council on the Site Options put forward for consideration in the next Local Development Plan.

I am particularly concerned about two proposed sites: BOA11 and BOA11c and BOA12. Both are on high ground and any construction work taking place there will necessitate the laying of concrete which will inevitably cause flooding further down towards the town of Bridge of Allan. At present there is a boggy piece of land behind Chalton Road which gives cause for concern. Any further water coming from above will exacerbate this situation and cause other flood dangers..
I also worry about access to any building work in the areas above. Neither of the existing roads leading up to BOA11, 11c or 12 are wide or capable of handling construction traffic.
On purely aesthetic grounds there is no doubt that Drumbrae and Sheriffmuir provide a beautiful
backdrop which sets off the town of Bridge of Allan. Any construction work, no matter how well planned, will destroy this.
Please note that my objections are the risk of flooding, poor access and the effect on the backdrop to the town. Of these three, my main objection above all is the risk of flooding.
