BEAR Scotland have a resurfacing scheme on the A9 Allan Water Bridge to Keir Roundabout SB with a proposed construction date of 25th September – 28th September 2020. These works will entail 24hr working and will commence at 19:30 on Friday 25th of September with works complete and all traffic management removed by 06:30 on Monday 28th September before the peak morning traffic. Due to the nature of these resurfacing works a contraflow system of traffic management will be required for the duration of the works.

Due to the nature and location of the works it will be necessary to close the A9 SB Off Slip for the A820/Doune Road during the works.

Southbound A9 traffic wishing to leave the A9 at the Off Slip for the A820/Doune Road will instead be diverted via the southbound A9 to Keir Roundabout and then via the northbound A9 to the NB Off Slip for the A820/Doune Road.

A double fast lane closure will be in place on the A9 overnight on Thursday 24th September for preparatory works ahead of the weekend closure.

Please see the attached location plans and diversion drawings.

We are aware that the location of the contraflow may have an impact on services scheduled to leave the southbound A9 at the Off Slip for the A820/Doune Road. We are currently waiting for feedback from the bus operating companies to try and mitigate the effect on passengers wishing to use any scheduled bus services for this location over the weekend closure.

Physical distancing protocols, in line with Scottish Government guidance, will be in place to protect the workforce during these essential maintenance works.
