Common Good Fund Application Forms
Background Information
The Bridge of Allan Common Good Fund (CGF) was established after the sale of the Museum Hall, and is held as a fund available for worthy causes in the community. Applications for awards from the CGF can be made to Stirling Council’s Provost’s Panel, which will take a decision on whether to award any funding and also the value of funding to be awarded.
As part of the consultation process undertaken by the Provost’s Panel, Bridge of Allan Community Council (BOA CC) is formally consulted on any applications made for award from the CGF.
To allow transparency on the BOA CC assessment process, a scoring system has been developed based around 7 categories that BOA CC view as reflecting overall benefit to the community, and best use of the funds. Note that this scoring system only provides a guide to allow us to collect the information we feel is important, and allow us to compare applications.
In order to allow applicants to present their request for funding in the best light, and also to provide BOA CC with a consistent form of information to support our assessment, an application form has been created, which applicants must complete in order for BOA CC to formally consider their application.
The guidance sheet is provided to assist applicants for an award from the BOA CGF to correctly interpret the application form as intended, and provide the information on the form needed by BOA CC to complete the assessment.
Completed applications should be sent to the secretary of BOA CC in the first instance via ccsec@ccbridgeofallan.org.uk.
Any application will be assessed on its merits based on the information provided. Any such assessments will be formally considered and recorded at the relevant BOA CC Monthly Meeting, and the results will be sent to the Provost’s Panel for their consideration.
Where possible Bridge of Allan Community Council will aim to consider all applications within six weeks of receipt. This timescale is to allow time for discussion on the application, and a decision to be scheduled at one of the formal monthly Community Council meetings.

Proposal to Introduce 20mph Limits within Bridge of Allan
Stirling Council have issued a draft for a road order to implement a 20mph limit within the streets of Bridge of Allan. They have not extended this onto Henderson Street as this will remain at 30mph. The streets listed are all adopted and the proposal is to erect signage together with road markings to be located at the junction points of each street.
Car Parking and Rural Access Arrangements
Following the First Minister’s statement of Thursday, 28 May, Stirling Council can confirm the following arrangements will be in place in relation to car parking, traffic management, public toilets and use of outdoor space across the Stirling area
For those areas in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, we have been working on the relevant plans with partners from the National Park, Forestry & Land Scotland, Transport Scotland, Police Scotland, and neighbouring Councils.
Car Parking
The following car parks will remain closed:
- Callander Station Rd Car Park
- Callander Meadows Car Park
- Callander Bracklinn Falls Car Park
- Balmaha Car Park
- Queens View Car Park, Strathblane
- Glen Finnoch (Devils Pulpit)
- Blair Logie car park
- Dumyat, Sheriffmuir Rd
- Plean Country Park car park
Parking enforcement staff will be patrolling over the weekend period.
Traffic Management
Variable Messaging Signs have been installed at a number of locations throughout the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and relevant traffic and Covid-19 messages. The Variable Messaging Signs will be located at the following locations:
- Callander A84 from the south
- Callander A84 from the north
- Callander junction between A84 & A821
- Drymen A811 from the south
- Drymen A811 from the north
- Drymen in the village leading to Rowardennan road B837
- Aberfoyle approach from the south A81
- Aberfoyle approach from the north A821 (Dukes Pass)
- Ben A’nn in car park (Dukes Pass) Forestry Scotland
- Queens View car park, Strathblane
- Finnoch Glen (Devils Pulpit) car park
Public Toilets;
Public toilets remain closed.
Parks and Open Spaces
Play parks and play areas remain closed.
Tennis courts at Kings Park, Bridge of Allan and Doune will reopen from Friday 29 May.
Stirling Council Fisheries on the River Teith and Forth will reopen from Friday 29 May

WELL HOUSE RESTORATION PROJECT
A small group of Volunteers with a keen interest in industrial archaeology have taken on the difficult task of restoring it.
By the means of self funding and any kind donations made towards this project they look forward to be able to open up the Well House once it is safely renovated to both exhibit it and to educate and pass on the history of this most important little building.
