 "Hello, I’m Jenny and I coordinate volunteering across the Great Run series.
We are currently recruiting our volunteer marshal team for the Stirling Scottish Marathon on Sunday 21st May 2017 and I wondered whether you might be available to get involved?
We are specifically looking for volunteers to help marshal the marathon route, they will be directing and supporting runners and helping to keep spectators clear of the course.
Volunteers will be required to register at 8:30am and are likely to be finished for the day at 5:00pm (or as the last runner passes their station).
Across the Great Run Series we work closely with local organisations to recruit a large percentage of our volunteer race marshals.
The club and its members benefit from the following –
• A donation of £15 will be made for every volunteer provided
• Each volunteer will receive a Great Run souvenir jacket and a packed lunch
Members, friends and family can therefore attend the event, help out and support runners from their club while raising funds.
The event thus benefits from having a team of volunteers that know and love the local area and also helps to raise the profile of Stirling.
