From Stirling Council with regard to the rising number of enquiries the service has been receiving in relation to increasing numbers of potholes on the road network, due to the recent spate of adverse weather.

With the subsequent extreme cold wet weather and snow along with the freezing and thawing temperatures, this has resulted in sections of footpaths and road surfaces to lift and crack causing further deterioration to the road network in places. Unfortunately at this time of year, they do not have the optimum weather for obtaining a quality repair and the majority of pothole repairs will require further attention within a short period of time.

The Roads Service is currently working each day to address those reported potholes by the public and those that are identified through our safety inspections. As a result, there are significant pressures on the service to address these issues as quickly as possible. In order to assist the service and ensure all reported notifications of potholes are recorded and attended to, Stirling Council have for your assistance in directing your constituents to the Councils Report It web page for pothole repairs (https://my.stirling.gov.uk/forms/fill/2000782 ). This will ensure all potholes are recorded and addressed as soon as possible.
