Westerton Drive/ Fountain Road Safety Issue

posted 30 Oct 2015, 07:23 by Communications TEAM

Further to enquiries being made to Stirling Council it has been acknowledged that, at the west end of Westerton Drive, at the junction with The Fountain roundabout there is an issue of vehicles parking at this junction causing pedestrians to walk between the vehicles into the path of oncoming traffic. With the Fountain Road children's play park at this location and there is potential for a child to be knocked over and indeed recently a pedestrian was knocked over while crossing at this location.

In order to provide to make the junction safer to cross Stirling Council propose to have ‘no waiting restriction’ markings painted to provide a safe area for pedestrians to cross the road.
