Stirling will join with more than 200 locations around Britain in lighting a special beacon to mark the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day on the evening of Friday 8th May.  The evening of celebrations at the castle will begin at 8.30pm with a live swing band, followed by a pipe band.  A lone piper will then accompany the Provost and two cadets to light the beacon at 9.32pm.  At the same time a beacon will be lit at the top of Dumyat.  The Kennedy Cupcakes will then perform afterwards.

Entry to the event is free.
