Provost's Park - Can you help

posted 23 Jan 2013, 14:54 by Communications TEAM
The Community Council are appealing to residents and businesses within the town to help bridge a funding gap in respect of the Provost's Park.  The budgeted cost of the project is £72k and the Community Council are delighted to learn that the project is to receive the support of LEADER who have awarded a match funding grant of £36k.  LEADER is a Scottish Government/European initiative with a mission to improve the quality of life in Forth Valley and Lomond through revitalised communities and enhanced natural environments.

The Community Council have already raised £25k towards the project and we now require to raise a further £11k to allow the project to proceed.  At last week's Community Council meeting it was agreed that we would seek sponsorship from residents and businesses within the town to help bridge this gap.  There are seven new benches included within the plan and the Community Council are seeking sponsors for each bench at a cost of £500 each.  The central gazebo and the interpretation boards are also available for sponsorship.  Any individual or business interested in assisting with this project should contact the Chair of the Community Council, Gavin Drummond on 01786 - 834642 or by email at  All going well with the full funding in place we would hope to have the project completed by early summer.
