On Wednesday 10th February two 18-year-old men from Bridge of Allan were jailed at Stirling Sheriff Court for a number of offences within the area.

Mark Brown was given a 42 months in prison for a number of incidents of anti-social behaviour and unprovoked assaults in Bridge of Allan between 19th March and 26th September 2015.

Kaya Bartle was also given a 16 month sentence for his part in three unprovoked assaults that he and Mark Brown carried out on 26th September within Bridge of Allan.

A 15-year-old male had his sentence deferred for his involvement in these incidents.

Community Inspector Jim Young said: "The level of violence and intimidation that Mark Brown and Kaya Bartle carried out during these offences had a significant impact on the community of Bridge of Allan and robust investigations were carried out by local officers to bring them to justice.

"Brown and Bartle may have thought they were above the law until their arrest and it's great to see that the court has taken such a firm step and sent out a message that behaviour of this type will not be tolerated.

“I hope the community and victims takes reassurance from this sentence, which should also act as a deterrent to those who think it is in order to carry out unprovoked assaults on people. I would also like to thank the members of public who came forward and provided statements to the police."
