Draft Local Development Plan - Update from Community Council Meeting of 18th September

The Community Council meeting of 18th September was well attended by members of the community and included a brief discussion on the Draft Local Development Plan.  Stirling Council are due to decide the draft plan, including whether or not to allocate Airthrey Kerse as a strategic development area for 800 houses, at their meeting on Monday 26th September (6.30pm at Stirling Council, Viewforth).  Counciller Ruskell, who attended the Community Council meeting, advised those present that consultants acting for the developer had provided a further hydrological report looking at drainage and flooding constraints at the site.  Councillor Ruskell also advised that SEPA had reviewed this most recent report and had confirmed that it was maintaining its objection to the proposals on the basis of unacceptable flood risk.  The Community Council hope to receive copies of the full reports shortly and await the decision from Stirling Council.  Although members of the public are not allowed to speak at the Stirling Council meeting on the 26th September we would encourage members of the community to attend.   We will post a further update on our website after the 26th September.
