Bridge of Allan Paintings and Photographs on Show

posted 5 Jun 2015, 00:23 by Communications TEAM

If you are interested in seeing paintings and photographs of Bridge of Allan from the past and present, then on Saturday, June 13th, you have your chance.

An open viewing will be held in the Allan Centre, next to the Library, of a selection from the Dr Welsh Trust collection.  These provide a fascinating portrait of Bridge of Allan over the years.

The exhibition is being held to celebrate the fact that a permanent display of paintings, photographs and maps from the collection has been set up in the Allan Centre.  It has been organised by Joan Lawson and Brian Whitby of the Allan Centre Council with Bill Kidd of the DWT, so that examples from the Dr Welsh Trust collection can be seen by the public in a secure place, rather than being hidden away in a store.

The Allan Centre Council will be providing complimentary refreshments for visitors while they view the exhibition.  Members of the public are cordially invited to see the display on Saturday between 10am and 1pm.
