Bridge of Allan - Police report increased housebreaking and cycle thefts.

The past month has been a busy month in Bridge of Allan with a number of developing crime trends. Cycle thefts are becoming more common throughout Stirling including Bridge of Allan. Police are urging residents to properly secure cycles and report anything they deem suspicious.


Over the past two weeks week there have been four thefts by housebreaking - this includes at shops in New St & Henderson St, Bridge of AllanAn overnight break in occurred 15th October – 16th October at Ahead Hairdressing in New Street where someone has smashed the window and stolen electrical items from the window display.


Later on 16th October at 2030hrs a male, described as being aged in his 20's to 40's, 5'4 - 5'6, average build, wearing dark jacket/hoodie with the hood up, dark bottoms with white stripes down the legs and trainers.  He had a 'school-bag' sized black rucksack was seen to punch a hole through the window at Woodwinters Wines and Whisky’s and steal several bottles of whisky from the window display. Several persons witnessed this incident however at this stage the perpetrators identity is not known. Police inquiries into these break ins are at an early stage.
