A9/M9 Keir Roundabout Traffic Management

posted 6 Jul 2015, 01:51 by Communications TEAM
Due to the additional traffic generated by T in the Park this coming weekend there are to be some traffic restrictions to Keir Roundabout.

Cars that are dropping off festival goers from Edinburgh and Glasgow will be returning through the A9/M9 Keir Roundabout throughout the afternoons on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th July, when the roundabout is already normally busy. To keep the majority of traffic moving as efficiently as possible traffic management will be in place at the roundabout on these days.
It is planned to close the circulating carriageway of the A9(T) Keir Roundabout between the north and southbound arms of the A9(T) north arm from 2.30pm until 7pm on Thursday 9th and Friday 10th July 2015, with the ability to be implemented from 12 -8 if required.  During these times the following restrictions will be in place:
  • A9 northbound restricted from turning right into the B0833 Stirling Road (Dunblane)
  • M9 northbound restricted from turning right into the B8033 Stirling Road (Dunblane) and A9 southbound.
  • B824 can only turn left to the A9 northbound
  • Diversion routes will be sign posted via the A820 Doune northbound slip road. Traffic heading to Dunblane will turn right onto the A820 towards Dunblane. Diverted traffic heading to the Bridge of Allan and other locations will turn right onto the A9 southbound slip road towards the Keir Roundabout and continue their journey.
  • There will be temporary traffic signals at the top of the A9 northbound slip road from the A820.
During the closures there will be an impact on some bus services which will divert via the Doune Road into Dunblane past Tesco. Services will be diverted between midday and 7pm and roadside notices will be provided for the two bus stops affected.
